Meet Max
Hi. My name is Max and I am the Room 1 Bear. I sometimes go home with the children at night. They look after me and write stories about me and the things we do together. Keep reading and you will learn about my family and my adventures.
This is me with my twin brother Duff. We were born in Teddyland but grew up on a farm in the Waikato, New Zealand. We both love the country, especially in the spring when all the little calves and lambs are running around.
Duff has gone off on his Big OE. He sends emails and photos back to Room 10 as he travels around the world on his adventures. Check out his link on the home page. This photo was taken the day I took Duff to the airport.
Meet Cousin Frank, who lives in Wellington on Windy Ridge. I love going to stay with him and we always have lots of adventures together.
Cousin Frank at The Beehive on a typical Wellington winter day.
No bees - and no honey!!
......But chocolate comes a close second!
This is my Grandma. She lives in Teddy Bear Lane in Auckland. Grandma's are special and I love going to stay with her. She likes to cook and always makes my favourite cookies - chocolate chip biscuits and honey crunch.
And this is Grandpa. He is a pretty good gardener and I like to help him when I go to stay. He can grow anything, but I especially like all the vegetables - carrots, peas, beans, tomatoes......yum!
Looking at Wellington City with Cousin Frank.
Sending Easter Eggs to Room 10. No! I did not eat any - well, maybe just one to make sure they were OK.
Helping the Marching Team get their steps right! They have to do lots of counting so it's just as well I paid attention when I was at school.
Sergeant Max reporting in from Warbirds over Wanaka. You may need a magnifying glass to see me.......
I love cycling. Here I am in my biking gear - helmet, glasses and riding overalls - ready to get on my bike.... a great activity for the school holidays.
Bear back riding with Cousin Frank and friend.
Greetings from Scott Base, Antarctica. On expedition
- have warm jacket, will travel....
Have skidoo, will travel also!! This is the life - better than a skateboard!
This is my friend, Luca Milano. We met at Mario Zuchelli, an Italian science research base in Antarctica. It is north of Scott Base and McMurdo Station. Perhaps you can find it on a map (or Google it).
At the Rock of Cashel, County Tipperary, Ireland. Built in the 12th Century, the King of Munster donated this fortress to the church. It holds amazing examples of Celtic Art and Medieval Architecture. Taken while on holiday.
High in the Bavarian Alps (Germany) looking over the Ettaler Forest, south of Munich. I didn't like looking down ....... it's a long way to the bottom of the cliff for a little bear like me!
At the Reinfalls, Schaffhausen, Switzerland. These are Europe's largest waterfall, on the Upper Rhine River. They are 150m wide and 23m high, and were formed in the last ice age: 14-17,000 years ago. Lucky I didn't fall off the wall - I wasn't wearing my life jacket!!
Celebrating Christmas with Room 10, 2012. I just made it back in time for roast pork, gravy, roast potato, kumera, pumpkin and peas. It is just as well my pants have a elastic top so they can expand. As you can see I had to undo my jacket! Little Bear - big puku!!!
