Today we went to Lydia’s farm in the cars. There are 600 goats. The goats are cute. We patted them and they were soft. We liked patting their soft backs and noses. We fed them grass and pellets and silage.
When we fed the pellets we had little paper bags. We put the pellets in our hands. The goats licked them and it tickled. Some goats ate the paper bags. We liked feeding the goats. Some goats stood on the gate. Some tried to eat our clothes.
Mr McKay cuts the grass with a mower. It goes into the feed out wagon and then it flies out again to feed the goats. The wagon is pulled by a tractor.
There were goats with long horns. The horns take 4-5 years to grow. Some are curly.
Some of the goats had paint on them. This was so Mrs McKay knew which ones had a sore leg or had to go into a different pen to get ready to have babies.
Brooke the goat keeps getting out and she followed us everywhere, She even gets in the feed out wagon to sleep.
We looked at the milking shed. Each goat takes 8 minutes to milk. They have two teats and they get milked twice a day. 430 goats get milked.

We also saw 4 cows. They were black or black and white.
When we had finished we washed our hands with special soap so we didn’t get any germs. We had a lovely morning.
