On Thursday we got five eggs from the hatchery. We kept them warm in a box and then we put them into the incubator. We waited for them to hatch. First there were little holes in the shells.. We could see the shells moving and the chicken’s beaks pecked at the inside of the shells. Soon they pushed their way out by breaking the shell. They were very tired and wet. We watched them try to stand up. It was hard work. The warm air in the incubator helped them to dry their down.. They had something to eat and drink and made lots of noise. We gave them names: Tweet, Moose, Bugsy, Squeak and Rusty.
