Ruru

Our theme for learning this term is NZ birds.  Here are our ruru (morepork).

Ruru are nocturnal.  They have big yellow eyes,  Their beak has a sharp hook for eating meat.  They like to eat small animals and insects.  They can fly very quietly because the feathers on their wings have very soft edges.
