Ruben the Road Safety Bear

Today RUBEN visited us with Gary to talk to us about road safety.  We sang and danced and practised 'pretend' crossing the road on the pedestrian crossing.  It was lots of fun and we learned the important things to do:

Be bright - dress bright - so that drivers can see us
Wear our cycle helmets to protect our brain
Wear our self belts so we are held tight in an accident
Use a booster seat so the seat belt is in the correct place on our body
Sit in the back seat so the plastic from the air bags doesn't smash into our face
Watch out for sneaky driveways
When you get to the road - Stop, look, listen and link.
Keep looking for cars as you cross the road
At traffic light crossings, wait for the green 'man' to say cross now
Use the pedestrian crossing if there is one
