Duffy Role Model Maria Gill

We are very lucky to have fabulous role models visit our school and engage the children in literacy experiences.  Today Maria Gill came to visit, sharing some of the amazing non-fiction books she has written.  Seven students were chosen to act out her story about the last of the Maui Dolphins.  She also shared a little of her newest book "Anzac Heroes".  While Maria was with us she received an email message to say that this book has made the shortlist for the NZ book awards - how exciting!

After we had sung some 'book' songs, including the Duffy song, we received our Duffy books to take home.  Thank you Duffy team.
