Learning about other cultures

We are learning about other cultures by interviewing children at school who have family who live in other parts of the world;

Max and Mrs Canuel come from Japan.  They like to eat sushi and stir fry, and say konnichiwa to say hello.  Max calls his Grandma Baachan and his Grandad Jiichan.  We found Japan on the world map and coloured in our Japanese flags.

Shelby, Jenay Charissa and come from South Africa.  They like to eat koekesisters (a type of dough biscuit) and say kia mora to say hello.  The call their grandparents oma and opa.

Ben comes from Holland.  He likes Dutch cheese and calls his grandparents oma and opa too.  Goedemorgen means good morning.
