Beautiful butterflies

We have made beautiful colourful butterflies using cotton material and dye.  We wet the folded material shape, then dabbed dye on.  The colours ran into each other.  When we opened them up both sides looked the same.  Once they were dry we glued them onto cardboard and cut around the shape.  They look very cool hanging in the butterfly area of our classroom.  We also made folded paper butterflies.  We coloured the spots and added glitter before we did the folding.  It was tricky but they look great.
